Q + A

What is the dress code?

Garden party formal! For the ladies, think midi-floor length colorful dresses. For the gents, think light colored suits with a tie. For shoes, note that the venue is on grass and our band is crazy good, so be ready to dance. The weather in Cabo in May is generally in the mid 80s F / 26 C during the day and drops to the 60s F / 15 C in the evening.

How do I get to the venue?

We have arranged complimentary travel to and from the Hilton to the wedding venue, Flora Farms. Buses will begin picking up guests from the Hilton lobby at 4pm to head to Flora Farms (there will be beer and water on the bust!). We will also have buses available at the end of the night to head back to the Hilton for the after party.

Will my phone work in Mexico?

Many cellular providers allow roaming in Mexico, but charges may apply. If you plan to use your smartphone, be aware that additional data fees may apply while in Los Cabos so be sure to call your provider in advance of your trip to find out if service is available. Many plans cover all of North America. There will also be Wifi available at the wedding venue and at the Hilton.

Any advice on navigating the airport?

Upon arrival, clear Immigrations and Customs with your baggage and proceed to the lobby. Continue past the timeshare sales reps who will HEAVILY solicit you with offers on your way to the exit ("no gracias!"). You’ll find car rental desks right outside the customs area. Taxis and reserved transportation are outside the terminal. See the following for information on reserved transportation through the Hilton.

How should I get from the airport to my hotel?

https://www.transcabo.com/en/tokenlogin/Ellen.Kenny You can arrange any airport pick ups to any hotel in Cabo using the link above!

I have questions about my reservation at the Hilton. Who should I reach out to?

Please contact our lovely wedding planner, Chrissy Magliano, at Chrissy@bigcitybride.com if you have any questions about your reservation.

Can I use US or Canadian dollars?

Mexican pesos are the official currency. U.S. dollars are accepted in many locations in Los Cabos, however tighter regulations mean that they are not accepted everywhere and some hotels may not be able to exchange your U.S. currency to pesos and vice versa. ATMs (dispensing pesos at a fluctuating daily exchange rate plus a fee) are widely available and we recommend using official bank ATMs. Credit cards are widely accepted in many resorts and high end restaurants, but be sure to ask in advance. Contact your credit card companies prior to travel to inform them you’ll be out of the county. Exchanging currency at the airport often incurs significant fees, so we recommend exchanging at your local bank while still at home.

Anything I should know in advance of traveling to Mexico?

1. Please ensure that you check your passport expiration date. Mexico requires that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your planned date of departure. If your passport requires renewal or if you require a new passport, please plan ahead! Currently passport processing times are about 8-11 weeks. 2. Mexico's customs regulations allow each traveler to bring one portable computing device, such as a laptop or tablet, into the country without paying import taxes. If you bring more than one device, you may be charged a duty of up to 19% of the item's value for each additional device. Allowed Items: 1 laptop or similar portable computing device (e.g., iPad) Limited Items: Up to 3 cell phones 1 GPS 2 cameras 1 pair of binoculars 4 fishing poles

When is the best time to book air travel?

The best time can vary depending on several factors such your specific departure/destination city, and current market conditions. However, as a general rule, booking several months in advance, ideally around 2-5 months before your intended travel dates can often result in finding better deals. Booking mid-week flights and being flexible with your travel dates can also help you find lower fares.

What is the weather like this time of year?

Early May is lovely in Cabo. Average highs are in the 80s F / 26 C and average lows are in the 60s F / 15 C with very little humidity and no rain.

When should I RSVP by?

We kindly ask that you submit your RSVP for the wedding by March 15.

Is Cabo safe?

Yes. Millions of international visitors enjoy safe and enjoyable vacations in Los Cabos each year. With tourism at the heart of the local economy, great care is taken to show visitors warm hospitality. Use common sense when using ATMs as you would in any area. Be sure to stay hydrated and use sunblock, as sunburns are the most common ailment experienced by visitors. We do recommend drinking only bottled water.

I have a different question. How should I ask?
